Psychotherapist

McKenzie Granoth, LMSW (she/her) is a thoughtful and compassionate therapist who brings warmth, dedication, and intentional care to her work with adults and older adults. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of St. Joseph in 2023 with a specialization in adults and older adults. Her professional passion is to treat people with compassion and engage with them in ways that foster understanding, support, and hope.

McKenzie became a therapist because of her deep commitment to walking alongside older adults through life’s most challenging transitions. She recognizes that this population is often overlooked or isolated, and she finds it profoundly meaningful to be a consistent and compassionate presence during vulnerable seasons. Her therapeutic style emphasizes dignity, empathy, and human connection, creating a safe space for clients to feel seen, heard, and supported.

Her clinical journey includes working in nursing homes in multiple roles as well as two graduate internships. During her first year of graduate school, she served in a long-term care facility in New Britain. In her second year, she worked at Middlesex Health Center for Behavioral Health, supporting children and families. These experiences have equipped McKenzie with the skills and insight to meet clients where they are, tailoring her care to their unique needs.

For McKenzie, the most rewarding part of being a therapist is simply being there for someone, to listen, to validate, and to walk beside them during difficult times. She values the power of presence and the dignity of connection as much as the clinical process itself.

Outside of her work, McKenzie enjoys spending time with her husband, their two cats, and their dog. She also loves reading, watching movies, attending concerts, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. A dream of hers is to travel more widely, experiencing new places and cultures along the way.
