PSYCHOTHEARPIST

Columbia University

David Williams is a Licensed Master Social Worker who brings both depth and heart to his work with clients. He earned his Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University in 1999 and has spent over two decades serving individuals and families with compassion, insight, and dedication. David’s professional path has been anything but linear—his experiences include serving in the Army National Guard, working in customer service for a Fortune 500 company, providing support in a group home for at-risk boys, and leading quality improvement initiatives within child protection services.

David’s journey into therapy is rooted in his commitment to walking alongside others. His approach is grounded in partnership—supporting clients as they take on life’s challenges and discover their own capacity for change. He believes deeply in the power of having an ally in the process of growth, healing, and transformation.

David specializes in Christian counseling, men’s issues, anxiety, relationship concerns, depression, and life transitions. His style is steady, empowering, and practical—he helps clients challenge themselves in healthy, productive ways while also offering a space of acceptance and grace. Whether he's supporting someone through emotional pain or helping them rediscover meaning in their relationships, David shows up with authenticity and respect.

For David, the most rewarding part of being a therapist is witnessing moments of joy, peace, and deeper connection as clients begin to thrive. He considers it a true privilege to be part of someone’s process and takes great care in aligning his support with each client’s values and goals.

Outside of the therapy room, David enjoys staying active—whether that’s taking a walk, going for a hike, or powering through a workout (burpees included!). He finds fulfillment in time spent with family and friends, and he’s grounded by his faith and the connection he finds in attending church on Sundays. Whether in his personal or professional life, David seeks to live with intention, integrity, and a sense of service to others.
